Small size Roll Top Oak Desk

    Could someone have a look at this piece of furniture and let me know a possible date or anything about it.I don’t collect furniture but this small piece caught my eye any help greatly appreciated.Size is 33 inches high by 16 inches wide and 28 inches across the top. 01E61691-F4BC-4B4F-BAA4-348ABB47338F.jpeg 8AD1C5C4-3C09-4632-A897-85213053A06A.jpeg

    No way that chair was meant for use with that desk. ;)

    Dinky little thing with those measurements. Agree with Brubaker50 about the chair. Sit on it & you'd be lucky to get your chin on the writing surface of the desk.

    I think its a childs desk. 1940s or so.Love that chair !

    Frankly I think even a child sitting on that chair would have their chin on the writing surface.

    Where did Brubaker say anything about the chair, @wiscbirddog ?

    Hi sorry for putting the chair in the photo it was the desk I was asking about , yes nice little Mahagony chair but the desk?

    Thought I would post a picture of the chair , I actually thought that it might have fitted the desk when I first saw it but as you can see it’s just too small.Picked this chair up a few weeks before the desk which I couldn’t resist as I haven’t seen another one.

    So how high is the writing surface from the floor? Perhaps a woman's desk or for a college student?

    No probs if it’s a woman she would be tiny just under 19 inches under the desk.

    Personally… to me the piece looks married...the top from a different desk. The 2 bottom pieces look home made and newer than the desk top itself. Anyone else think this?
