I spoke with a manager at one of the local super goodwills here and when I commented on the lack of any good stuff lately she said that they were opening a new store a ways south of us and everything decent was going there for the first 6 months or so until they became self supporting. I have found some nice things there before like a sterling 1/16 flask from 1907 that I got for 60 after talking them down from 270 but that was just being in the right place at the right time and those times are far and few between.

 

And getting fewer and further.

 

I used to have an antique shop 5 minutes away.....I always scored when I was there even though it was more a 2nd hand store than real antiques.
It was between a low rent area & mid rent area, but always had a great assortment of unique items.
Several years back they moved 50 miles away to an upscale community called Hudson Qc.

I miss em....and no one has filled the void !

You just don't see authentic False Face pipes around much,....or at all !
