What kind of rug is this?

It is a smaller rug. Needs to be cleaned

 

I'm hoping Komokwa comes along...

 

Aw, poor thing. Needs a lot more than a good clean, I'm afraid. In fact, I doubt it should be cleaned without the unraveling ends being sewn to prevent additional loss.

 

Well last time I was fooled by that Turkish rug...so now I'm shy !!

 

Smaller rugs like this can be prayer rugs.. ( But here I'm not seeing it..) ....and over time will show their use, specially at the fringes .
This looks wool...and very nicely hand made, with some age to it.
If I can find a good match, I'll post it.

 

I'm going to come down on the side of , a Shiraz from Iran.......and let others correct me if I'm wrong.
