Both the book and the movie, yep. I live about 40 miles from the Groton base, so this area has a lot of submariners and submarine lore around. Blind Man's Bluff sounds like it's probably a good read.

 

Couple of bits I picked up today ,The ram is by Bertil Vallien ,and the vase is signed " Hatch " .

American rail lines knew the public were apt to be light-fingered and used plate. They are however highly collectible. Odds are the Soo Line spoon wasn't meant for use, but it's cool regardless. The Colorado one is probably the older of the two.

A fluke it was.
My GF at the time's step Mom worked at the book store he first showed up in.
She knew I was Navy and so bought them for me as he came in each time for his first 3 signings.
After the success of HFRO he didn't return and so my signed collection stopped there.
RIP Mr. Clancy.

Hit some thrifts I've not been in in awhile yesterday. Found useful things though nothing collectibly (not a word..I know) spectacular. I did find some books of interest...to me anyway. I have to go back to one today to see if there are any others I missed in the St. Nicolas series.
Note that that book is 100 years old now. Not perfect but not bad either.
The Twain book is especially intriguing with that quote by John Irving on the top of the cover.
I wrote my 'paper' in college on him.
I can't wait to read them all.
