Christening Mug? and Wine Taster or Bottle Holder

Hi,
2 pieces of silver that I wondering about.
#1 -The cup was made in London 1875 by JJJW (Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst), inscribed on the front Hugh Lyster Rodd 1902. It is 3 3/4"H x 2 1/2" across the top, gold wash inside. With the design I'm not sure if this would be a Christening mug, and no day/month of birth, but I've been wrong before.
#2 - Made in London 1901 T. Slater, W. Slater & H. Holland. I thought this would be a wine taster but after reading the post by Komokwa on the finds thread maybe this is a bottle holder. This is also inscribed Hugh Lyster Rodd 1902, is 2 3/4"H x 4" across the top not including the handles.
So with them both 1902 and for the same person maybe the cup/mug is just that rather than a Christening mug - any thoughts appreciated.
I tried to find information on this individual, all I could find is that he was a boat builder in the Victoria area, from around 1927-40s.

They're both sweet , but the 2nd one ....size...curved bottom & thumb rests over the finger rings , would indeed seem to be something you might take a sip from.
