This is a table from my friends grandparents house, she has no idea the age but always remembers it being there. She was born in the 60's. The table only has 1 marking. She believes it was used for sewing but I think it may be a writing desk. Any ideas of the table/desk Era or brand?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Hola and welcome, Kendra. your picture didn't come through (for me, at least).

There are plenty of furniture brainiacs here! Good luck.

Thank you! My picture was too large on my cell phone I had to upload to the computer to resize.

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

    It's a desk and I'd say 50s-60s

I agree with Bev. My mother's sewing table from that period had an "extension" that folded in from the right (when not in use) to provide extra surface area for large items being worked on. It also had more drawers than this desk that were shallower (for things like extra thread and bobbins, etc.) in addition to one deeper one for patterns and sewing books, etc.

Well, I'm the furniture lightweight here, but that looks more like a boo-boo than a mark to me... :wideyed:

It is on the underside I don't know if it's a boo boo. It looks as if it was done with a small dremel tool

If that is a makers mark , then they should seriously consider a new line of work !!!

I agree with Gila and Komo - if it IS a mark, they really didn't want anyone to know what it meant.

It kind of looks like a footed bowl (witch makes no sense at all. LOL)

Can't add much more. Circa 1960 desk. Probably never find who made this and it doesn't matter much. That is not a maker's mark.
