Raku Sculpture - possibly 50s-70s marked

I'm not sure why but I just love this sculpture - I think it is supposed to go outside (could be wrong there). It has a good mark - S with four dots on each corner (see pic). This mark (plus another sculpture) was posted on the French pottery forum - they thought it might have been a Japanese sculptor - but she responded and said it was not hers (sorry can't find the post or remember her name - but she has a similar mark).

So - over to you raku lovers ... any ideas as to who and when? It stands 15.5 inches high.

I bought it from a brocante in France.

 

I see the head on the short sculpture, but do I dare ask what is on the side of the tall one???? I mean, it kind of loosely looks like small, fresh, animal innards stuck to the side of it, meaning no disrespect to whomever the artist may be!!!! But, YIKES!!!!!

 

mmm ... animal innards and unprocessed fish sticks!! Actually, they are supposed to be birds - perhaps doves. Maybe the little object/humanoid is contemplating birds in a tree ...

 

Haven't we seen this before? Incidentally, raku doesn't do well outside if you are in a climate that gets frost. Porous raku absorbs moisture and when that expands ..get out the glue.
