Pink Stone

Value wise, he said the same thing. Gold casing was done by former local goldsmith from melted gold. Stone?? I dont know. It does look rather roughly cut. It is very lovely in the daylight though. It dates back to 1960s.

My guy has 40 years experience as a jewler and he used to make a jewlery out of precious and semi precious stones, but as soon as he saw it he made a statement, than he looked it for a long time after confirming, but not so confident. I dont know if there is a way to test a stone?

 

You shine light through the stone and measure the refraction. Needs a refractometer.

You can check hardness easily. Corundum is 9 on the Moh's scale, harder than glass, so a ruby, real or synthetic, would scratch glass.

 

Any stone over a hardness of 7 will scratch glass.

 

Whether glass or stone, it's a lovely color.
