"silk framed bird painting, maybe old" (CRINGE)

    I've seen paintings and prints where the artist could have used a smaller canvas ....or a larger design...

    I know I'm late to the game here. (So I may be redundant to what some have said). The frame alone screamed 1960s/1970s to me.

    And sometimes, I buy drawings, prints, etc. ~ (with my gut) ~ sometimes spurred by their very presentation and framing, which can definitely help date them.

    Now this piece has no attention to archival preservation at all. And it's only going to continue to warp & rot if it stays in that matt.

    Trimming it may be the only viable option, if one truly wishes to preserve it. Might even get the warping to settle down by having it cut out of there.

    (Just my humble artist's two cents).
