How old is this English sideboard?

This oak sideboard was acquired and sold by J. White & Sons who was in business in Sheffield from the 1890's until about 1940. However, they also sold second-hand furniture, so it's possible this sideboard is a little older. They didn't make furniture. This one is made by hand and solid wood throughout. Brass hinges have been added, but there is a wooden latch with a hand-cut screw. The top has a slight ripple feel with handmade dowels. The dovetails are also handmade. Are there clues as to when this might have been made?

My initial reaction was that this was circa 1930 but in looking at the details, think it is probably 19th century. The style is Elizabethan but I don't think it is that old. Your wooden latch and handmade screw sound intriguing and not in keeping with a late 19th century date. Can you show these?

Here's the latch. The screw is cut all the way to the outside edge.

Not understanding the latch. Is it on the inside of the door and attached through to the knob? Also can't tell if this screw is handmade or not based on this picture. Would have to see the shank to tell. Any other screws used in construction other than attaching the hinges?

There are no other screws that I can see except the "modern" ones in the hinges. The latch is on the inside of the door and is attached through to the knob. The screw looks pretty much as you see it in the photo. It is pretty corroded and the slot for the screwdriver is too worn to turn. The cut does go all the way to the left side.

Here is the inside of the other door. If it ever had a wooden latch, it was replaced with the brass hardware. I don't see signs that it ever had a latch. There are no scuff marks like the other door has.

That's been got at, I reckon. The inside and fitments are typically Georgian or a llittle later. The carving is classic High Gothic Victorian. I suspect the base is a marriage.

    komo,yours looks 1930s ish.

I was told earlier...but that could have been a selling job.....& I liked it so much the age really never mattered.
It still has it's metal lined sliding drawers....I guess for ice , on each side behind the large doors......and a secret drawer....placed elsewhere...:wideyed:
