I suppose this is more recent, and maybe from the import store, but is it African?, or something else? Thanks for your time.
    Approx 10" long.

I would indeed be thinking import store; but as to what culture it might be referencing, or if just a fantasy item from Bali or the like, I wouldn't be able to guess.

Sea turtles occur worldwide in tropical water.

Oh you all are the best, thank you sooo much for the help. I wasn't realizing it was a sea turtle....duh!
So, how could I list it? Just carved wooden mask? If not African, what other words could be used for a modern decor item? Thanks again for your time

Not real Africans, certainly! But if we're talking Bali tourist items, with a fantasy-African theme, anything goes. Like the Lombok baskets with giraffes, zebras, hippos; I'm pretty sure none of those creatures are found in Indonesia; and somehow I'm getting a Bali vibe from this. And they just make stuff up, so if it does come from Indonesia it could be just somebody's fantasy of what an African or Pacific Rim mask might look like.
If I had time I'd search some of the websites of the Bali export/import trade; but they make so many masks in so many styles that it would take a while.

I've never before seen the word treated....stamped on a Bali mask....
Maybe something new for their Aussi tourists.

I haven't either, but certainly could be something related to import laws.
