Is it supposed to hang by the two little eyelets at the top? And it's flat, more or less? Maybe something to hang/organize notes or keys or... organize or denote which people/equipment is available... or... some kind of steampunk timecard thing? That's all I got!
Hi! Measurements and more photos would help. Let us see the back, the bottom, a side view, top view, etc. Do your best to give us an inspection, like we'd be able to do if we had it in hand. Do the pegs on the right side slide back and forth, or are they stationary? Post some pics of the other two, also. That might give some more clues.
Thanks for the tips. The side pegs to slide the horizontal panels, the top ones are stationary. All of them are metal the white letters on the left are metal. The item is approximately 18" x 30" and 1.5" Wide

Is that the best focused picture you can get of the ink stamp? I can just barely read "Utica NY" at the bottom.
Yes! Can we read the rest of the stamp??? Hopefully the company name could be traced, and that would lead us someplace. Can't stop staring at those pictures... I keep feeling as if something is about to reveal itself, but... nope. Okay, so it probably IS supposed to hang by the two little eyelets at the top, right? And then things (notes? keys? tokens?) are placed in accordance with... location? availability? Seems as if it would be associated with organizing or tracking... Maybe the stamp says "Steampunk Timecards", after all.
Tracking something makes a lot of sense. But it is odd that the number sequences on the paper strips are not all going in the same order left to right- some going up - 1,2,3, etc. and others going down - 9,8,7 etc. It also looks like the first number on the far right should be in ascending order starting at the top, but that gets lost toward the bottom.
Did you ever know a secretary or office manager who had a bizarro filing system only he/she understood???? I wonder... If only we can get a better read on that stamp!
Unfortunately it is. You were able to get more out of it than us, there are two stamps on the item and both are out of focus so with the picture it isn't much better, sorry
Just throwing out ideas. Some sort of employee's board for keeping track of work done. Or Bookmaker's betting board. Really have no clue what it is.
I think the stamp image is just blurry... I just knew the thing involved tracking or something... people, activities, things... but nothing made sense until the notion of gambling or lotteries was presented! I feel "warmer"!
