Carved piece of wood

    Front looks like a mask, but not the back, and it looks recent. I would like to find out the country of origin though SAM_1571.JPG SAM_1572.JPG

    Maybe a "faux" Pacific Northwest mask.
    I'm sure the experts will be along soon... Professor Komo? Taopou? All Fakes?

    Not Northwest Coast in style, faux or otherwise. It is certainly a wall-hanging in the shape of a mask, though.
    The wood doesn't appear to be the one commonly used in Indonesia so I'm not going to guess as to what culture or country it might be trying to represent.

    I recently picked up a non-mask mask that on first look seemed African. On the back was a Made in China sticker. It did not look exactly like this but this might be something to consider.

    It may be chinese, yes.
    There are lots of wooden souvenirs here that are imported from India and China. I was just looking today to see if there was something similar.
