Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Yourturn, that sounds a lot more plausible.

Just what I was thinking, wrong Albert. I doubt if there many women in high society who were not intimate with 'Bertie' at some time. And presumably the children count is a bit understated too.

A hymn to Bertie went "We plough the girls and scatter, the good seed on the band."

    Bakersgma,
From the rumors of Victoria's handyman, I think his name was Brown loyal might be a bit much.

Now, Greg - no rumor-mongering! However close the Queen and Mr. Brown became, physical intimacy of any kind would have been impossible. I speak ex cathedra on this.

Back to finds. Chinese silver filigree with cloisonne enamel and gold wash (gilt/vermeil). Paid a bit more than my comfort zone on this. But yippee partly cleaned up and marked silver. More I gently clean, the more the gold shows. It is still very dirty. Repair at top and maybe artist signed on beak or the beak mark is part of the botched repair near it. Not sure of age or value esp with repair at top that is not very well done. T

The Martin brothers would be proud of your owl.

I think it is remarkable. Well worth splashing out a bit more than your comfort zone. This may be loads less than you paid but I'd have popped a couple of hundred dollars for it.

yep. I love it. I bought for resale, but I may keep it for awhile. Rarely keep anything anymore cause I have way too much stuff. It is 7" tall, tiger eye stone eyes, dragon and phoenix at the bottom.
