I have kept something secret... it is time to confess . I collect bird corks... have for years... Here's a photo of them, along with where they live, on a dining room side-table. No particular specifications... cheap to nice wines... love 'em all! So... if anybody has any cool bird corks, I would consider buying or adopting them. Feels good to come clean!
YES! I kinda try not to get more than 1-2 of any brand... Hey... for ME, this is a very burdensome, hoarder-anxiety, guilt-laden collection!
A fun collection! I knew that sometimes the labels are more interesting than the wines inside, but hadn't thought about the corks. It makes sense; Cockatoo Ridge, Crane Lake, Hawk Crest... though I don't think I have any bird corks at the moment.
As soon as I figure out what that means, I'll... I'll... I'll... ...I'll... ...I'll... ... I'll know what it means! EDIT
interesting cork collection; is that a Higbee 'Thistle' compote? I just throw my corks into an old glass canister on the counter; but seems most bottles are screw top these days...
YOU ARE AMAZING, Cakesie... yes, I believe it is! Edit Was my ol' man's mom's... circa 1930... I think.
I have a huge, glass vase filled with corks. I'll look at see if there are any birds, but I doubt it. I don't think I've ever seen any with birds. We must get really boring wine.
