Kasperscuriosities Two hundred years too late.

It is believed to have come out of Arkansas but that is all that is really known. I think it is a really neat piece. Imagine the stories it could tell.

Are the chairs made of the exact same wood? I ask because the peg covers appear to be the same. Otherwise, the chairs look newer than the table but it is too hard for me to tell if they are the same wood from the small photos. The chairs appear to be made of maple and circa 1950s-1960s, so to me it really just looks primitive in style.

You are correct the chairs are not original and are much newer but they match really well. I just included the picture with the chairs cause they looked so nice together.

Kaspers, the table looks to me to be from the 1950s too. It appears to have been manufactured (and the lazy susan screams the age of "ad men" to me). The chairs do go well with it. (Yes Johnny I do see that too! hah)

There was a revival of sorts of hand-made rustic pegged furniture in the 50s. The timbers with somewhat randomly flattened corner edges are typical of this construction. This may date to then.

Being in Texas, you may be familiar with once such maker, A. Brandt. Your table doesn't necessarily look like their work but who knows. They made a lot of pieces over many years and may have done commissions. Here is one of their rustic tables.
