That is a great idea- the dowels. About 25 years ago, I purchased a Chinese silk brocade jacket, vintage, probably WWII era. It was black with gold, green, pink, and white tree designs.... I wore it with a pale pink silk shell and a black skirt, pearls, and my hair up with those hair sticks (mine were black laquer with pearls, black glass decorated with pink and green blossoms.) I used to wear this outfit to work, and every body always commented on it. I have to see if I can find one like it and post a picture. Galeria, I commented on your link in talent! Great painting!

Lucked into the bookends. They weren't there the day before and thrift priced them a bit higher than most things. I am sure that kept the casual buyers away.

The Parrish was in a very large junky thrift that I rarely visit. It was buried in a stack of junk prints not worth looking at. Knowing this place and the clientele, it could have been there a very long time. Definitely the first cheap Parrish I have found in ages.

Forgot to post this art deco brass trinket box. Just a bit smaller than a cigarette box and velvet lined. Bought at my regular thrift for $2.00.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Brad, I had never seen "Tinto Gravure" before (it's on the back of the Maxfield Parrish print). Will have to look into that.

It is an obscure term. From what I can figure it is a color intaglio rotogravure process.

desperate, that is a drop dead gorgeous set!! To find that many pieces still together is amazing to me:) I'll keep you in mind if I see any dresser trays but they would look fantastic on an old mirror with ornate trim.
Book that is an interesting buckle!
