San Juan Cap Original Painting / Sign
If was crafted by a man from Tustin, CA between 1998-2004. He made the whole piece, meant to lo look old.

I'm not sure what you are looking for. If you know who made it and when, what is the question?

I actually don't know who made it so I'm looking for artist's name. I know that it is going to be very hard to find him...

If I were to guess....& it would just be a guess....I'd say the plate is hiding behind the one of the signs......:wacky:

In that case, you may never find out. There are hundreds of people who paint signs like this. I've painted signs like this. I used to do it as a business. I doubt anyone would pay a lot for an old sign I made. There's another poster on here who was also a sign painter.

Couple suggestions - Should we assume that you have looked these over very carefully, both front and back, for evidence of a signature? I can't imagine the artist not signing them somewhere. Second - Have you tried contacting the newspaper that covers the Tustin area to see if they have archives you could search through?

Thank you for your suggestions. There is no signature.

I never put a signature on signs that I painted. Why would you? At the time, I didn't consider them works of art. Most of the ones I painted were on storefront windows.

Bakersgma has a good idea - call the historical societies in both towns. I'm still wondering - who told you that it was painted by a man from Tustin? The person who sold you the sign? If they knew where he was from, are you sure they don't have more info?
