Ah. Replacements is a US business that deals in "replacing" pieces of china, silver and crystal. Suppose you had broken a tea cup from your grandmother's set and needed to get one to "replace it." If you were in the US, that's where you could look for it. They handle just about any age of tableware, even relatively recent production, although their bread and butter is patterns that are no longer available at retail.

I do not know about any such services in the UK, but would assume there must be some.
