Maybe they came from rosaries used by loved ones, like grandmothers? Rosaries are so personal, because they are objects connected to a person's spirituality and often used every day.
I have both my grandmothers' rosaries, my mother's as well.

I have carried my Mother's rosary in my purse every day since she passed away in 1993 & my sisters decided I was the one who should have it. She did not have a pouch that she kept it in, so when I was cleaning out her sewing room I came upon some flannel material she had used to make my oldest son a pair of pajamas. I took a piece of the material to make a small pouch to protect it & when I change purses it is the first thing that goes into the new one.:happy:

I have a very similar shell bracelet in tri-color gold, purchased new in the late '80s-early '90s.

Nice - that design salt has been made for around a century, by different makers, but most often David Andersen and Th. Olsens - what D-A mark does it bear? It's missing its glass liner, not really a big deal, and the spoon makes it special...

Some of my Viking ship salts, the one like yours is by Olsens, with cobalt liner and matching horn pepperette:

Nice little presentation set, the finial is the Oslo city seal/coat of arms, depicting Saint Hallvard...

    Hi,
I have six or seven Rosaries of my grandparents and great grandparents. They are very plain and well used. I have one that is crystal and sterling with a name on it but I have no idea who she was. It is very beautiful and heavy. I keep them in a covered Chinese enameled jar.

Here is the ship mark. Pity mine was missing the liner, your ships are beautiful! C1B02FAA-8DB4-4070-AD60-A3D123C4B74D.jpeg I was very excited for the spoon as it’s the same blue pattern as my fork and other larger spoon. I’m willing to bet it’s not meant for this boat since the boat has no enamel however they fit together. The spoon has the same mark on the neck.

My mother was Catholic, but we were raised in my dad's religion, Lutheran. I love vintage rosaries and do pick them up whenever I see them. And I pick up modern ones, too. Modern Christmas rosary (almost tis the season.)

Nice one. Jug and basin sets aren't usually a good pick, but that's a decent make and shape.

True dat :) no more then decorative value, but it was in excellent condition for about 130years old and not much more than a pizza. Don’t know exactly what I will do with it :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Today's finds were: a chunk of sterling of no particular design merit, but it weighs 13 ounces on my mail scale! ... and a Josie and the Pussycats mug. I watched this show as a little kid, and named a calico Josie Ann, the Pussycat. The fascination with the animated Saturday morning show dissipated quickly, but the cat was one of two cats in the house until I went to college. The other was her littermate Thomasina, from the Aristocats.

Not only does this house eat things, it disgorges forth objects of unknown origin. I have NO memory of buying this.I unearthed it yesterday and gave it a good vinegar bath.

And then today, I thought this one was rather nice, too. About a dollar. The Tibetan one was twice that, says the big spender.
