Clam Oster Plate 6 opening Help ID maker and Pattern and age incised mark

    This plate is 9 1/4" and the incised mark letters looks like c [​IMG] [​IMG] [​IMG]

    LOL! Here we go again -- those are scallop shells! :) And I have never seen a scallop plate before...but I do have this great recipe somewhere...

    In the photo, the mark looks like it might have an "A" superimposed on the "C." So maybe "CA"?

    Does your receipe include wrapping the scallop with bacon??????

    No, but that's one I really love. I just can't seems to get both ingredients to the correct (for me) degree of doneness. If you can tell me how, I be most grateful!

    Hi Silver,
    I helped make them for a wedding. The secret was to do the bacon first but not to have it done done still soft enough to wrap. The scallops were lightly fried for just a minuet, wrap with the bacon and broil for 2 minutes. The bacon finishes and the scallop is done.

    AH! Thank you! Fry scallops for just a minuet (Elizabethan or Louis Whatever), then broil. I am remembering now the problem I had...I set them on fire whilst trying to crisp the bacon.

    Back again with these plates scallop or clam plates.
    Help ID mark or maker renewed interest I hope someone has seen these before
