It looks as if it has little malignant glass eyes. Truly repulsive. Even the colour is unpleasant.

Well bad enough to be good.

Oh gosh that's bizarre. The handle looks like an elephant but the lid, they've almost made it look pig like LOL.

Anyway, the way the numbers are impressed look like something I'd suspect might be German, Austrian, something like that. Can you tell what the other impressed thing is other than the 4709?

    I believe it's an impressed 39.

My theory is that the number is 39, it represents the year 1939.

The thing was made in Poland in 1939, it was so ghastly that the Germans invaded Poland just to destroy existing stocks of the thing, and the whole of WWII was a misunderstanding arising from this entirely justified action.

Is there a forum for least beautiful item?

    It's mouth is dolphin-ish.

Now I get what might be the real reason for Hitler going nuts.

Does the head fall off if you're pouring what's left in the bottom?

This has inspired me to design an even more repulsive creamer that is penis shaped with a scrotal reservoir that dispenses a thin steam of milk from the tip....

Don't all applaud, it is simple natural talent.

I don't think it would have had a head at the bottom and another at the top. Maybe the lid went on a (gulp) matching sugar bowl.

    Hi Janet,
I am agreeing with you. I just wish it wasn't made in Poland. there are so many Polish jokes as it is.

You know it doesn't really have a spout for pouring so it may be a jam/jelly/condiment server. I'm wondering if this lid goes to a creamer that had more of a spout that completed the trunk.

That makes sense SIS. That removes the problem of having two trunks on one piece, also.

I'm not sure it's a creamer. I'd think the opening is for a spoon and it's for mustard or relish. Or, as Janet said, it' the creamer bottom and sugar top. Either way it's so awful it's good. We did have an old thread back on Ebay which started with ugly lamps. We ended up designing a whole, ugly room. We could start with this.

I think you are correct that the lid goes to something else. I cannot understand why they would show a mother sitting on her baby

At 5 o'clock there is another mark. Is it a crown with an "R"?
I'm thinking it's German in origin.

The pottery and glass board on ebay had an Ugly Sale contest. I think people won for the most ugly item and, for the highest bid on an ugly item. This would have been a great contender. Ugly sells.
