Terry, check that other auction site. You will see 14k examples. I think it cleaned up too well to be RGP, it's too shiny. I can never get a good shine out of RGP. And whenever I have found a bale totally soldered, enclosed, the piece has been 10k and up.....and both the bale and top finding are completely soldered so no ring can open.

This was all tarnished, but gold also tarnishes. I live that love knot pin? Did you check the stone out? If it is not glass, could be blue zircon or blue topaz.

Brass and glass here. Just the front is a thin sheet of copper with rolled gold plate on that.

Marko, love the coral necklace. When I used to buy tiny bits of red coral it was quite expensive.

If that coral is natural and not dyed then you are looking at a pretty penny. ;)

What is it? If you can find out who Kh. Hamid is and when it might have been presented to Churchill, that may add to the value.

    Nice finds everyone!

    Thanks, Sharona!

Imagine if that piece was in restored working order. It probably would have finished at 3x or 4x that price. Oh well, I'm still very pleased.

Can you believe these folks sold great, great grandma's portrait? Serious! I'm not kidding...

The small 3 piece lot below was $30. That includes great, great grandma's portrait -- 19th C. reverse painted on glass, and two 19th C.(?) Pennsylvania(?) redware(?) pieces. I don't know much about American pottery, but these belonged to grandma. The two-handled piece is unglazed except for the top quarter and has what appears to be a flower-frog-type design within.

These other two pieces are Asian (Chinese & Japanese). The small late-19th C. blue double-lozenge vase with stand was $10 (similar examples of the same size and form sell for around $500) and the oddest, and one of the most beautiful Japanese Meiji (1868 - 1912) Period pieces I've come to own was roughly $30. I'm not exactly sure what it was used for, but I believe it's a form of tea caddy(?) for special Japanese tea ceremonies. Not 100% sure. The body is finely woven bamboo, and the cover is of mixed metals (gilt-bronze, silver & copper) with inlaid shell underneath the waves openwork. It probably once had a three-pronged handle at some point in its life given the three small holes at side.

Wow, 'Nuff, the basket/box is beautiful. Is it possible the top and bottom are a marriage?

    Thank you!

It's possible, but not likely a suppose. It fits like a glove.

The finely carved wooden Bali piece dates to around the 1940s/50s. It has a few condition issues, but still a fine piece.

An 1869 first edition Hans Christian Andersen book, 19th C. French silver and crystal (Baccarat???) inkwell and a 1931 signed and inscribed image. Not sure who the dude is, but it was $3.
