The pair stand at 4ft plus each. I bought them because they were cool looking with the bats on the fronts and they were very inexpensive. I thought about painting them and then as I started researching. I found some like items, nothing exact at all, that made me think my title is right. The last two pics are of the hardware and how it is held on the inside. I have never seen anything like it before but I am just learning about furniture. They have dovetail drawers and I do not see evidence of nails anywhere. Everything appears to be made to fit together and hold itself in place. The gouge in the cabinets, where the doors are hung, looks kind of primitive or at least rudimentary ( I hope I used that right) lol If you need pics of the dovetails I can add them. I thought I took some and I cannot find them now. There is also a feature on the tops that I saw on the other "like" cabinet that lead me to believe these were kissin' cousins of some sorts

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

From what I can see of the grain on the lower drawers, I think the wood might be Elm rather than the rare and expensive Huanghuali

There's something amusing about dovetails on furniture covered in bats.

I agree. And Huanghuali furniture is constructed and finished in a much more refined way.
They are much more recent, but attractive.

I was thinking that too. They are just so similar to the other one I saw.

My 2nd thought was it looked like they were from the mid 20th c. Just a guess. I’m no good at furniture.

    Thank you for your opinions

I''m far from an Asian furniture expert, but your 2nd thought (mid 20th century) seems right.
