Who's the designer of these earrings?

I've had these for a while. The backs are marked A P, but nothing that marks them as sterling (or 925). They look native American or Mexican, but possibly they're just costume? I don't have a silver tester and I don't know how to tell if it's real turquoise.

Without touching and looking closely at them, I'd say ... real. There are folks here more experienced than I, so wait for them to weigh in on these.

:) I've never had pierced, partly because I own literally hundreds of pairs of clips, but also because a policeman friend warned me off, years ago. I also like Big Earrings and they seem to work better as clips.

I was too chicken at 14 for the ice-cube potato (I heard the put a piece of potato behind your earlobe) method, and used self-piercing earrings - I think they were called "sleepers."

They were just a tiny hoop that slowly worked its way through your earlobe - took about a week.

Even so, I put them in at the wrong angle, facing kind of outward, and some earrings just don't look right and never will! :)

Ownedbybear, I'd love to see your hundreds!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I did that "sleepers" thing in college.....of course they got infected....standard procedure, but they were fine after! Did it because I hated changing earrings!! Now I always have a tiny pair of loops in my ears and always feel a wee bit dressed up!!! :smug::smug::smuggrin::rolleyes:

It was just like having a loose tooth at 6 years old - the first thing I did every morning and then for the rest of the day was check the state my ears were in!

One year, for Christmas, my Dad bought Mom a pair of delicate ruby pieced earrings. She didn't have pierced ears!

My sixteen year old sister fixed that up by having a friend pierce hers via ice cube/potato method!

    She's 6 years older - I never had a shot!

As a pedigreed Irishman, I decry the dastardly use of the potato!

Let them use, as Tommy Makem says, "A napple!"

    Take three - they're small!

    Won't work for ear piercing.
