I got these bowls at an estate sale recently. You can see the Terracotta color under the glaze. It reminds me of the majolica italian pieces I have seen or deruta. One of them has a partial stamp that contains what looks like a rooster and stars but it is very hard to make out I'm hoping someone will recognize it.

Personally, I do not think these are very old.
1980s or later. Reminds me of things (particularly the color and design decoration) of things sold through decorator shops.
But wait for others to give their opinion.

Hi Lewis R - They have an Italian look to me too. It's a shame that mark is blurred -you can almost read it! We have a gentleman, Walter Del Pellegrino, who is an expert in Italian pottery. Hopefully, he will see this thread and chime in. If he doesn't pop up in a day or two you can try and reach him through the forum on his website http://www.delpellegrino.com/

The colors and style seem Italian to me as well. I haven't seen a lot of it, but it has that flavor.

Definitely Portuguese. Some time from the 1970s onwards. That pink is actually a major clue to Portuguese pottery as well as the mark.

The cockerel, by the way is a national symbol of Portugal.
