Antique oven?

Just as an aside, my city code allows knob-and-tube wiring to remain in place in older structures, though new construction or remodels are required to follow current code.
I've had several houses with knob-and-tube, and although it looks primitive, it was actually a very safe system, because the distance between the two wires made a short-circuit almost impossible. However, it was an ungrounded system, and the parts were subject to deterioration, making the wiring less safe as time went on. It was also harder to install and maintain than modern wiring.
"If the Knob & Tube Wiring system remains unaltered, has been carefully maintained, and all repairs have been made by a knowledgeable electrician, this wiring method would still be safe to use today. Unfortunately this is almost never the case."

 

One of the lights on the 3rd floor went out and we went to replace the bulb the other day and it completely fell out of the ceiling. It had knob and tube and was so deteriorated it just disintegrated. So now we are without one light up there for now.

If anyone wants to put knob and tubing electric in please contact me. I have perhaps 100+ ceramic knobs and tubes that they can use.

My beloved granny cooked the same way . Ive eaten at a 1000 Cuban restaurants in my life , and not one ever came as close to her cooking . Of course , decades of practice had a lot to do with it !
