My weekend finds! Several Christian Moerlein Jug Lager bottles. These are old and cool but very common. Apparently a large amount (possibly as many as 5000) were found in the beer lagering tunnels below the old brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio. I still love them and added to my collection today when cheap. Now have total of 2 larger, and 5 smaller bottles.

I think I know what you mean. Casting bubbles are when air leaves a mark on pieces made with molds, right? I have no idea if anything on the pendant came from that. I’m not sure how casting bubble marks look to be honest.

Casting bubbles are from air bubbles on the wax model when the investment/plaster is poured.Look at the "engraved" lines for little "balls" in the lines. If the "balls" are there the piece was cast and not engraved.

I've seen a fair bit of Victorian engraved silver with less than top notch work. Some of it was to be sold cheaply.

Your Diana hunting party tray may be pewter and made by WMF. Have a look for the ostrich mark.

Here are a few goodies I found recently...

First is a garnet pin that was missing 2 stones, got it for a good price at a flea market. Through Arlene's generosity I was able to replace the stones :)

Next are 3 Dancraft Sterling bangles I got for a big $1.50, I LOVE church sales:

And lastly a 14k Victorian Mesh bracelet and a pair of 14k Victorian earrings I found at a local scrapper's shop:

I found a few samples online, it does have the ostrich and all the little marks the other ones do. Some of them say these are silver plated and others don’t. I’m not sure how to get mine cleaned up, I gave it a cleaning with traditional methods already. Water came out brown and black. Mine appears to have been left out to the elements at least for a while.

OMgoodness, all of the jewelry is gorgeous. There are antique dealers here who buy as much as the old garnet pieces here missing stones to repair others. Love that garnet brooch, and I love BMRTs silver earrings that match her pendant. Haven't been out, under the weather, love seeing all these finds!

Stopped at the thrift store today with a limit of 10 dollars to spend. Not much there but I did find these Miss America Belles ladies dumbbells. Pretty heavy, over 4.5 lbs each. $2.99 for the pair. 20191104_1448321.jpg
