Help with identification / usage please

These 2 items were found in an old ch ippies tool box. Are they for woodworking ? The ends are lead spheres.

That's quite possible, the craftsman had a job with some unique requirement and made special tools for that job. But at least we can give them names. How 'bout large bopper and small bopper?

That is so NOT what I thought a chippie was.

 

Down here in Australia all carpenters are called chippies.
What did you think it was ?

 

Um, professional ladies are sometimes called chippies. Or just ladies who don't have a strong moral compass, if you get my drift.

 

These look like they would be very useful for knocking out dents in holloware. I don't know if that is what they really are but that is what I would use them for.
