Porcelain Tray is it a part of something ?

    This porcelain tray measures 9" by 19.5" it is decorated vertically. On both ends there is molded offset like it would fit into something. What did it go or what would be it used for. Also, do the decorations have any significance? DSC06853.JPG DSC06856.JPG DSC07056.JPG

    My mother bought a new Tappan in 1960. It did not have the covers.
    I'm smiling as I type this, because she probably thought they were to expensive.

    I've got a couple of these (the one with the little Tappan dude) lying around myself, albeit, not in this good of condition. Those are clean enough to serve guests a nice grouping of muffins or biscuits off of.
