Help With Siggy On Fighting Cocks Painting

While there are certainly similarities, I don't immediately see that these are by the same artist. There are enough differences stylistically to cause some pause. The signatures do look similar but also have some differences.

 

Found this one more similar to yours that was attributed to Ceasar Buenaventura but, again, it doesn't quite match stylistically. The signature, again, is a bit different.

Yeah, the SUBJECTS are so similar, colors, too, but style differences are noticeable, Brad... extent of abstraction, treatment of motion...

 

I am not convinced it is by either of these artists. In looking at a lot of other works, these paintings seem more heavy-handed than known works by either artist.

 

You're persuading me. Extent of detail/impression-style, and different treatments of movement (blurs vs. more of a stop-action). And like you said, overall heavy-handedness. I think that the last name and subject matter was just so easy to focus on.
