Featured Heavy brass lamp with MB Co burner

Here is a double student lamp with a rope bead motif. The motif is not the same as yours. It has a Manhatten Brass burner. The seller speculates Tiffany bought the base from MB and decorated it.

These student lamps with Manhatten Brass burners are really not unusual for MB was noted for their student lamps.

The pieces I found attributed to Revere were all candlesticks or candelabra. The coiled rope motifs were very similar but they had none of the other embellishments seen on these lamps. They were made of fairly thin copper or bronze with bases weighted with iron similar to the way B&H does with some of their pieces.

Seeing these Tiffany lamps, I would say both of yours are more similar to the Tiffany than they are to the Revere pieces I am referencing. It doesn't help that I can't find any of what I am talking about. I sold mine many years ago but have seen some crop up on ebay from time to time. Usually, they are unattributed.

 

It seems LCT spent quite a bit of time in France and was certainly inspired by the art and stain glass he saw. He was an accomplished painter and attended the main salon of traditional establishment art in Paris and probably also attended the Salon de Independents in 1889. This Salon de Independents featured artists not allowed into the main Salon due to their non traditional styles. LCT was interested in anything that was new and cutting edge. He became one of the leading art Nouveau advocates with many of his designs following this new style.
One particular painting shown at the Salon de Independents in 1889 that I believe my have inspired the wire design on the 2 lamps we all have seen ourselves. Can you guess which one? Take a look at Vincent Van Go's "Starry Night". The swirling clouds appear quite similar. This might be a stretch, but I do not believe in coincidences. The Jeanne D'Arc medalions on my lamp probably reference the popuralrity of her horine status as breaking from the establishment. Her image and name have been referenced in connection with the art Nouveau movement.
Hopefully, this on going discussion will produce some more concrete evidence. Old pictures perhaps, letters, invoices or sales receipts and maybe a few more lamp examples.

Really can't add anything but thought I would comment to bump it up a bit.

I have done some more online research and talked with a local dealer who is more familiar with Tiffany. I now believe the 2 lamps were made by Bradley & Hubbard sometime between 1885 and 1900. The wire scroll decorations can be attributed to The Handel Company which apparently was known for this type of decoration along with Tiffany on their student lamps. I was able to find some Bradley & Hubbard student lamps online that had nearly identical wire scroll decorations. Who copied who would be hard to say as employees moved from company to company. I am leaning toward Handel as starting this wire decoration on the lamps before Tiffany based on my research so far. It seems the wire scroll decorations on table lamps as opposed to student lamps is quite rare.
I was not able to find any other table lamp examples. The missing shades on our two examples were probably of the round globe design. The globe decoration could have been any type popular at that time including etched, cut, painted, embossed, etc.
Anyone with additional info. Please comment.
