Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

I know this is probably a souvenir from past century, butI cannot figure out what culture are the three figures from and what technique was used to create this.
    Size is 5.7x9.7 in.
Material seems to be copper sheet folded over wooden plank, with some kind of thick paper glued over to cover the back.

It does appear to be ancient Greek in style, but not period. Is that blue enamel?

Afantiques is right, these three women were taken from a Minoan wall painting in Knossos, Crete. So your plaque is likely a souvenir from Greece. Mat

The colour around the women is brown. It may seem bluish because of my lousy camera skills, but everything is made of single sheet of metal only figures were not coloured like everything else

Looks like a bright purple blue to me.

The costumes did strike me as Minoan, the topless, and bare breasted look was very popular in that culture, but it seemed simpler just to go for Greek.

The Minoan civilisation was destroyed by the Gods because of all the topless women. People say it was a nearby volcano erupting

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minoan_eruption

But is was really the gods. Surviving Minoans passed on the tale of the Gods reaction to too many flaunted mammary glands, the word was spread from mother to mother for 5000 years, so now you get 6 year old girls on the beach in bikini tops, breastfeeding in public causing mass panic, and an idiotic obsession with nip-slips.

The Gods will Not Be Cheated. Prepare to meet Thy Doom, California, home of tits on television! They say it will be the San Andreas Fault, but don't be fooled, the Gods will be at it again!

Definitely from Knossos, Crete. Probably the Museum shop. I have a few souvenirs from there.

    Thanks Bev, Thanks Susan.
I am still not receiving my notifications.
The colour of the copper plate is dark brown.
It is by no means a vulgar souvenir.

Why would you call it a "vulgar" souvenir? Museum reproductions are often expensive and well made. I'm not talking about stuff you'd pick up at the tourist shops in the Plaka.

    Bev,
I wasnt refering to your post when I wrote "vulgar". I was reffering to one of the previous comments on bare brested women.
This piece is very well made and is currently hanging in my dining room.
