I have a friend about that size; she's married to an Indian guy but wears western clothes. She did wear a sari for her Indian wedding though, so I know they make bigger ones.

As an aside, we hired the photographers for my daughter's wedding. They were so enamored of all the beautiful ladies in saris on the groom's side, they didn't take any photos of my family! We show up here and there in the background. I was the mother of the bride and there is ONE photo of me walking down the aisle on an usher's arm. When I didn't buy the album, they kept bugging me and I finally called and told them. They said they'd get back to me when they found pictures of my family. They never returned my call.

(LOL) I've been known to google Wedding Sari before now, just to look at the pictures.

They're like butterflies when they're all together. It's lovely. And a little intimidating for a behemoth like me. I'm taller and wider than two or three of them together!

    Hi,
Living next door to Iselin NJ for many years, I have seen some pretty heavy sized Indian women. I wondered about their saris, if they just did not wrap as many times
or if they bought 12 yard ones or even 15 yard ones. The first woman I saw in a sari was my 5th grade teacher. She went to India on vacation and bought several. She wore one to school one day. I was mesmerized by the silk and the trimming. I was especially interested in the bare midriff. To me she looked like a dream. She told us about the story why saris are so long. She said that by the time a man "unwrapped" her it he would fall asleep. Later I heard the "real" reason, 11 year old guys were not to know.
