I have a tall one door wardrobe with a sail or map applique. The only info I see on the piece is a small stamp Fleet Furniture. Has any obe by chance heard of this company? Ps. Hi all

That's very nice and the carving sets it apart from run of the mill. As does the fact that Fleet supplied Liberty - makes it good quality. Agree on oak, the top pediment carving looks late 19th into early 20th. There was a bt of a thing for sailing ships from the 1890s into the 1920s, you see stained glass in doors with them a fair bit over here.

I'd need to see the inside, but I suspect it's a gents wardrobe from the size. Gentle clean and a bit of wax on it will do it a favour. Someone with an Arts and Crafts or Edwardian house would like that.

I have a wardrobe identical to the picture. Did you ever find out if Fleet Furniture is the same as George Fleet?

Unfortunately the original poster never returned to provide a picture of her piece and Alex (who posted the pictures you see) has not been here since mid-November. So we don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps @alex webb will respond to this tag.

The fact is, all caps generally is considered "shouting", when used in discussion forums.
This forum makes it easy to use larger, bolder fonts when typing, which would make it easier for a typist with poor eyesight... and less likely to put off any readers.
Good of you to add info to this thread but just in case you weren't aware, it is an old thread from 2019-2020.

Yes Well ......I'm trying to help u....... & as u can clearly see.......( no pun intended..) , a dark color with this large font in bold , is much easier to read than your all caps run on posts...

but u seem to want none of it........:meh::meh::meh:

    ...

AND THAT'S JUST FINE BY ME AS I'VE GOT FOLKS HERE THAT ACTUALLY VALUE MY HELP.

Thankyou I do know it’s a old post I’m new here and have really struggled seeing what I’m typing not because it’s lower case or small lettering but due to the fact not all visual impairments are the same. The text editor is a nice helpful tool however its not the size or boldness of the letters it’s the shape and size of them were I struggle. When in capitals all the letters ARE the same size and more importantly for me are mostly made with strait lines rather than rounded letters. I didnt mean to make you think I was shouting I apologise for that. I just don’t think I should have to justify my reasons for using caps especially after saying I have bad eyes ive literally used a magnifying glass to type this I don’t want people thinking I’m rude or shouty coz I’m not I was just trying to reach out and share some info .
