Bedside Lamp Stand

This antique teak wood bedside table lamp stand has been beautifully painted with all organic vegetable paints. The middle part has tribal carvings of elephants, palm trees and sunsets, all depicting what is quintessentially Kerala. The base is rounded and grooved, with a stepped tapering ending in in flower petal overlays. The entire lamp is a deep ebony colour, making the painted areas stand out with stark vibrancy. This lamp stand can be made electrical, or may hold candles. It's a beautiful addition to an understated, elegantly decorated room.

Hmmm, I don't think any room in my house would qualify, but then I'm not really sure. Maybe if a room is understated you buy the thing which makes a certain statement, and now you have enough statement. Well AM I RIGHT?
