I use a pressure cooker bought new in 1974. Brilliant thing.

All thrift store finds this week. After finding very little all last year, I am once again finding some sterling. These are all sterling except the knife in the front. $6.00 for all. I'll be posting some of these in other threads for information.

This sterling clip (barrette?) was $2.00. Kind of looks to be NA but I doubt it. Will post in jewelry.

This painting is watercolor with colored pen. Signed Ruth and dated 1968. It was one of several, all priced $2.00 each. I only bought the one I thought best. Probably student work.

Manhattan depression glass 7" bowl. Bought for $3.00. I know it doesn't have a lot of value but I particularly like this pattern and use it for serving on a regular basis. I think I may only have one other of this size. This pattern is particularly prone to chipping so I try to pick perfect pieces up when I find them.

I thought these 7" shades kind of interesting. The pattern is acid etched in the glass. Color makes me think 70s but could be newer and retro. Not sure but, at $1.00 for the pair, I don't think it matters much.

Just showing off finds from this past week :)

I've already introduced Mr. Penguin in the glass section.
A few antique Russian spoons sold as silverplate, Waterford and Faberge votive holders (the Waterford one has a small bruise in the rim - I think because Goodwill had these two stacked and taped to each other with no protection between *slowly shaking my head in bewilderment*) ...
An old stainless MCM coffee pot designed by Arne Jacobsen for Stelton (it was covered in decades of blech, but cleaned up beautifully!)

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

That coffee pot is a knock-out. I know somebody who has a 1950 ranch house in a local burb. She has done it all in authentic MCM stuff.... oh, the kidneys, the atoms, the sleek furniture, the statement lamps! The kitchen is even outfitted with the right stuff. That pot would look great. I'm sending a pic of it to her, just for fun, if you don't mind?

No problem, Gila! I too have a 50's ranch (raised ranch, actually) with much period decor ... including a PINK GE kitchen ... the cooktop has been changed several times, but the cabinets, sink and wall oven are still the original PINK!!

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    Oh, mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn oh mannnnnn!
Her bathrooms are glorious pink and light blue!
I'm gonna see if I can get you a photo of her main livingroom lamp... looks like a cross between a Klingon warship and a pagoda to me.
The whole house is just magic, to be in, though.
Oh and she has an itty-bitty tv, that works, sorta. Sometimes!

    Kristen,

You probably want to post your item in its own thread to get some help. This thread is more for show and tell. That said, it looks like it could be a bank safety deposit box or similar.

Also, the advertising attached to your photos makes me think you are spamming the group. As King said, that needs to go away.

Looks like a camp oven to me. I don't see any advertising.

Have I ever said how much I LOVE car boot sales? I think I have. A bit cold today but I grabbed a few bits. Including a silver plated ice bucket: didn't even look at the base, as it cost a whole four dollars.

I have just looked at said base.

    I screamed a bit.

    CHRISTOFLE!!!!!

Pics to follow, once I clean the thing.

I love that coffee pot and $2 artist print!!!

Nothing much happening around here. Estate sales start on Thursdays or Fridays, can't get to them when the good stuff is there.....I did go to a church sale Saturday, but I got there on time at 9 a.m. The early birds were lined up at 6:30 a.m. and the sellers had a hard time setting up. See? Told you it was cut-throat here....

I did get this set of peacock freshwater pearls, the necklace is very long and knotted, for $5:

Then this lady had a box of 50 cent jewelry, old-store stock....
    50 cents church sale.jpg

And this was in the box, the pearls look fake, but are real, with onyx:

Then it was really late in the day by our church sale standards, 9:30 a.m., so this lady said everything was a dollar- celluloid, featherweight pendant on a sterling chain:

And lastly, I thought somebody took this off of a Lea Stein pin and glued it to a comb- I never knew Lea Stein made hair combs (this was $5 at a consignment shop):

Wow, Marko! Never heard of Lea Stein before ... thank you so much for sharing (just Googled her and saw the realized prices!)

[mentally adding it to the list of cool jewelry to keep an eye out for] :)
