My husband has inherited two blue glass ceiling lamps. Today one fell from the ceiling and the glass is pretty much gone. I'm trying to figure out what we can do to either repair it or replace it because my husband is heart broken, but I can't seem to find anything out about the lamp.
This is the lamp, most of the backside is gone and the front is cracked.

This is the other lamp still hanging.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

Terrible way to end the year. I looked through my list of suppliers of vintage lamp parts and haven't seen anything comparable. I really think I would go to a good craft store and see if they know any glass artists who might be able to repair it for you. Don't know where you live, but if you are close to a major university you could also see if they have any glass artists on staff.

Bummer ! Looks like the type that was popular in the 60s,a lot were made in mexico. Wrought iron and blown glass. I actually like the second one much better ! :)

    Hi,
I remember a lot of these from the 1960s and made in Spain.

A lot also came out of Mexico as well as Spain, 1960s, agreed. I ran into a set (amber) at a garage sale last summer, my god I was tempted, but they were asking $125 or something, also a plus, the iron work was done by a local artist in the 60's. I was sorely tempted but in a "downsizing" frame of mind. The glass still had the Mexico label.

Repairing glass is no easy fix, but might be worth a try. The 2nd lamp is absolutely fantastic. Breath taking.

Not sure what to recommend. Perhaps, set lamp #1 in a box in the closet for another time, and go get a bottle of champagne.

Over here, they were also made by Chance Glass, Nazeing, and I think even Whitefriars. Some are pre WW2.
