I bought this 8 years ago simply because I like butterflies. I know nothing about the maker or anything. The dots on the butterfly wings are raised, if that means anything? It's 4 1/2" tall. Paid $4.95 plus $10 shipping. Any idea how old it is, and did I get a good deal?

Hi Pinecone -welcome to the board! I believe your vase dates to the very late 1800's. Leonard was an importer that went bankrupt in 1898. I think you got a good buy on it. The only thing that bothers me is that I think this might be a small ginger or scent jar missing it's lid. I could be wrong on that though.

Thanks dgbjwc! It's older than I thought then. A jar does make more sense with that kind of lip. Bummer there's no lid.

It does look like a jar, but it's really pretty.
