Am I correct Guilloche Enamel Pendant

Discussion in 'Jewelry' started by VintageonSixth, Dec 28, 2015.

  1. Am I correct in calling this pendant Guilloche Enamel? Modern 1970's ? I believe it may be a generic monogram as I can't find it now but found another the other night the same listed as enamel.

It's not signed, but the Metropolitan Museum store sold similar stuff back then. I'd be more inclined to tall this basse-taille. Guilloche usually has engine turning or designs in the metal under the enamel.

i agree with evelyb, guilloche is famous for its wavey pattern under the translucent enamlel, although more geometrical versions are common too, but this is not quite like it. if you are planning to sell you should just list it as enamel, surely people will apreciate its beauty even without it being quite like guilloche :)

I would call it enameled and leave it at that.
