Silver tray - help with mark?

Hi folks, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! This is a tray that I think might be sterling...not sure. It does look and feel like it though. Nicely made at any rate. The mark is double-stamped and I can't make out what the letters in the shields are. Also, the "Hallmark" (underlined) mark confuses me. Does anyone recognize these marks?? Thanks for looking and advising if possible...

 

Dunno the maker, but the EP most likely means electroplate

 

Certainly electroplate.

 

The last two letters are EP - Electro Plate. I can't read the first two. Most pieces like this were 1960s wedding gifts, and most of them were silverplate.

 

Thanks! The 'Hallmark' mark (and the handles) made me suspicious. I figured more practiced eyes than mine would help confirm...thanks again!

 

The letters in the shields are "NTEP" with the EP for electroplate as others have pointed out. I found a tree well tray on WorthPoint that the seller said what the letters were. They didn't know the maker.

I have no idea who the maker is either. I suspect the maker's name would not add any value to this tray.

The maker is "Hallmark"! Active since the 1910s. Merged in 1954 with Hunt Silver Co Inc to form Hunt-Hallmark Co.

Good grief! I knew I had seen this mark before, but couldn't find it. Got hung up on the letters and then distracted! Good job Libby!
