I covet the top one. Is it US silver?

Well, I covet both really but mainly the top one.

This is a nice thread to view... Have never had tea from a silver cup. Isn't there a metallic taste?

I think if metallic taste was a problem we'd not all be using solid silver cutlery.

    I can't say because I don't drink tea.

I would think it would cool down rather quickly in a silver cup ?

I have some silver-plated spoons that do leave a strange taste in my mouth, so I use them only to stir coffee. I don't eat from them. But solid silver may be very different.

The top one is German - Wilhelm Binder...800 silver with parcel-gilt. Late 1900ish? The filigree is about the same, I think?

WOW, you are the only other person I know who knows about Trout fishing.I met them years ago in Pasadena. They are so great.Ezra is 6'7 and Keith is about 5'6. When they were performing, Ezra's guitar string broke in the middle of a song, well,Keith continued on his cello, while Ezra continued to sing at the same time putting on a new string. They got a standing ovation.

Ezra told me he and his wife had arabian horses back in Arkansas. The guitar he used thaat evening was old and beat up. He said his wife had bought it for him many years ago. Love them. They also did a song aabout a whale Blue and it was a tear jerker, also this Lullaby.

Shiloh, thanks for sharing the video. I'd never heard of them and enjoyed watching the video and then several more of theirs.

Pat, when my friend invited me to go see them I was skeptical of the name, I thought I was going to see some weird concert. I was literally taken back by their talent and how friendly they were, very down to earth :)

I liked the imagination that went into their songs, plus their sense of humor. And it was great watching how well they engaged the kids in the audience.

You don't drink tea? You were adopted then? From some random island in the Pacific? I mean, you're in ENGLAND. Even I drink tea there!

I had never heard of them either! Obviously I have deprived my children! And me. I googled, and much as I like the Creepy Dead Bug, and the lullaby and that other thing above, I must say, it is the idea of a hippo with hiccups which will never leave me!

As far as I know, as a small child, I was offered tea and did not like it. That was that for tea. Saved man years of tea making to devote to reading interesting books.
