They are the most popular souvenir sold in Turkey.

The glass bit of these looks cheaper than most but the heart is actually 18K

Most of the round ones I have had over the years had 14K frames, so I'm not surprised at the heart.

say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

Reminds me of the faith mustard seed charms/pendants. Only these look more like frog eggs.

The Greeks like these too, and they turn up all over the Eastern and Southern Mediterranean. They're supposed to be protection from bad luck.

Yes, protection from the "evil eye".

I'm owned by cats; the stinkeye aka fisheye is old hat. I get that every time I wake Louise up!

Cats are all about posturing. Once you learn how to give 'the look' back properly, they will just go skulking away.

Louise looks at your "look" and scoffs. Then she goes back to sleep.

This sign must have layers of colour and first layer close to the eye is usually yellow

I've bought those ornaments in Turkey and Greece. I've also bought bracelet charms like your little ones in both Turkey and Greece. It's a girl thing.
