    Heh. ;)

The other find was a stack of good obscure railway books in perfect condition. Listed on Amazon last night, and one sold within an hour for more than I paid for the whole pile.

I have had my eye on a piece like this for some time. There are quite a few on Ebay but a little more than I wanted to spend. This one showed up last night with a "Buy It Now" or "Best Offer" I made an offer I was comfortable with and the seller accepted.

    KOT,

No problem there. I have a spot under my desk at work, that I stash Christmas presents for the Mrs. I start my shopping in January, and stash away a couple trinkets here and there so by Oct-Nov, I have my shopping all done.

Could we see the paper label? Have never seen a paper label on a Loetz piece so would be a good reference to have.

When I have it in my grubby hands, I'll get an image of the label for you. That may very well be an importers label. I'll know more when I see it (I hope)

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

View attachment 25900 View attachment 25899 View attachment 25901 View attachment 25899 I put this item in the Metals Forum a while back and got no hits. I think I'll try this thread.
It's about 1 x 1 inch, maybe 1/4 thick. It was purchased in India in the 1950s. I recall being told that the wear on one of the chins is due to some kind of repetitive religious practice (as with rosaries, I guess). I have been told it is cast brass. Any clues?

Museum souvenir piece? Looks like. Dunno from where. It's been slim pickings here lately, but did finally put a frame on this. DSCF0281 (490x640).jpg
