I am repurposing/making sterling silver .925 straws for fancy alternatives to plastic. Well you can buy them at Neiman Marcus for lots of money mine are only 1/5 that amount but they are still not cheap. More a novelty.

We are not making these sterling silver flatwares. We are making hyperrealistic arts.

Not sure what exactly you're wanting to know, you started off asking about the old American makers, and what happened to them and the silver industry - some opinions were given, then you said you wanted to produce fine custom silver, apparently Japanese. It's unclear to me, are you looking for marketing advice?

Yes , we are considering about promoting our products or find ways to get involved in this business (such as customize items for certain clients or museums). (We can either customize hand make items for famous brands(cartier, tiffany, etc...), or for certain clients, or even make replicas (1:1 and 99.9% similarity) for museums to exhibit)

So that's why I said, it is a big topic because there's so much information I would like to know

Actually, we also considered about acquiring a famous brand(such as whiting, Turtle, etc...) to start the business. However, it seems like not a good idea, becuase the area we are focusing is customizing and we are not building product line for the wholesale or retail.
