What is this?

    I know I am new and prob not posting in the right spot. But just came across this site and had to see if any of you could help. Been bugging me to find out what this piece is, tried searching all over but could not figure it out. thank you in advance for any help.     no not at this time. the base is 3 inches wide and hollow like a bell. it stands about 8 or 9 inches tall.

    Also can not see any markings what so ever. I'm sure its not of much value, but it just bugs me that I can not figure out what its purpose is or was. thanks for your reply

    Welcome! Here is just fine.

    Looks like the center support for a possibly silverplated condiment or castor frame. The missing piece would be round and attached to this one where there is an indentation - see the place against the background where it crosses the rim of the pot holding the feathers?

    After doing some research, you are correct Bakersgma. it is a piece of a condiment cruet set. Thank you for easing my mind lol. Happy holidays.
