    Hi all,

I’m doing a cull of my numismatic collection, and wonder if anyone knows what this is? Acquired at a car boot some years ago, here in Edinburgh.

I thought it was either a miniature shower head, or a miniature hair dryer.:bucktooth:

Ditto ! Occasionally I'll check out 'doll house miniatures' on Ebay, some of which are extraordinary.

I don't see the shower head. I was wondering if it might be runic?

I see an I, an M and an H, and a smaller c and o along the I central axis. So not runic imo.

Looks like the J has a shorter curve to the right, it looks partly worn. That is why I thought of an I (old fashioned flamboyant style).

What you see as a loop on the M looks like a separate o to me.;)

I tried to enhance it a bit:

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I think @sabre123's enhancement shows the best......and I also see 'c', M & H ....not so sure about a 'j' as there's the 2 curls pretty symmetric except for the little
mark off the left one. AND maybe we're ALL OUT IN LEFT FIELD!!!!:D:D:joyful::hilarious:

Is it one sided? Could have been a watch fob or keychain. Since there’s a chip out of it that may have been where a hole had been drilled and it broke. Looks like it may have been a metal detecting find.

My thoughts too, which is why I saw an 'I', albeit rather elaborate.

Van, do you know what the material is? Is it metal or clay?

Here in the Low Countries we had similar seals for woollen cloth. They were attached to cloth by officials of the cloth makers/merchants guilds as a mark of quality and authenticity. Those seals were usually made of lead.
