This one came in a bag lot of mostly silver. It looks more pewter or other white metal to me than silver though. I can’t make out the mark unfortunately. I’m not even sure if the whole mark is visible. Anyone know it? B046C2CD-E72A-44D8-920F-9B83B3C0330D.jpeg C42C18B1-0BD9-4C3B-958A-C04CFD6C1614.jpeg 4B089DA4-007A-43E8-8D19-A8C875BE6788.jpeg

It looks like "By J" to my eye.

Thanks I’m not seeing anything that looks similar in that persons production. This seems like a pretty vintage piece to me. I’m also seeing the mark several ways. One is the way you saw it. The other is lozenge like punches that are slightly worn with letters inside of them.

My St Justin pewter jewellery has their name and their round knot symbol. I'm not seeing that here.

I've got a Celtic style pewter brooch with that mark, which I'd thought was SJ, but I don't have the box any more. Let me go hunt it down....

Or 'By JF, as in Jeronimo Fuentes' mark

Could be JF, but this brooch isn't in the Jeronimo Fuentes style and the mark isn't the same.

I know. It was really just meant to show that the J (or whatever it is) could also be JF as it has similar lines. :)

I only just noticed the inlaid eye. Nice detail, and it could be a clue as to whodunnit.

I think there's another mark under the eye (SJ or JS?)
