Here is the third of four items from a lot I purchased. The first was the Isleta pot I posted and the second the Berber dish. Based on the Berber dish having a similar motif, and AJ’s post in that thread I’m guessing this is also Berber. It’s got some losses but still a nice thing. What say you tribe? 45DE9C77-70EC-4D2E-8991-B04391EEB701.jpeg 524391E4-E01C-43E0-9F5C-7365BA632C1B.jpeg 77D06E48-1CBB-4AC0-82A2-69BDB847EF72.jpeg 1D1FD482-7937-4C68-8FB8-2F0051B7B0E6.jpeg

A beadwoven strip sewn to a heavy commercial belt/harness strap. Cotton thread. Fairly uniform bead sizes. The design and colors look like Sioux/Lakota style, but I don't associate the woven technique with their work. So, could possibly be mid-century Native work or, more likely, a hobbyist/reenactor.

I'd be wondering about a better tourist souvenir of some kind. It wouldn't need to be "from the area", just something that would sell. The beadwork looks too good to be random hobbyist work.

It is not all that difficult to do loom beadwork well.
