Hello all, it’s been a while

I picked up this ring at auction

The ring has some age. unmarked, tests good for 14k. The mark was likely lost during re-sizing, which clearly occurred at some point.

I assumed the pink stone was nothing special, but then on a whim I checked it with my electronic diamond tester and it shot up. Verified my tester with a known diamond. I realize these testers are not highly accurate

Pulled out my UV light and this pink stone fluoresces a wild red color.

so what do I have here? A pink ruby (now referred to as pink sapphire)?

I seriously doubt it’s a pink diamond as it simply doesn’t have the brilliance of a diamond and natural pink diamonds are exceedingly rare.

Natural and synthetic pink sapphires can glow.
